AGM Report

by, Peter Hayman

The first TRRA Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday, 7 April 2021. Thanks to those of you who braved the technological difficulties and joined the ‘Zoom’ meeting online! A total of fourteen households were represented at the meeting, giving us a ‘quorum’ under the constitution.

Hopefully, we will not have to use this format in future, but thanks again to Coleford Town Council for the use of their ‘Zoom’ account, and to Cllr Helen Barnham for facilitating the meeting. Apologies to anyone who would have liked to contribute, but (like my wife!) was unable to ‘un-mute’ the software! If there are any issues arising from the meeting which you would like to raise, or any questions you were unable to ask because of the technical difficulties, please feel free to use the ‘Report an Issue’ section of the website, or drop an email to any of the committee members.

The full minutes of the AGM are published in the ‘Documents and Reports’ section of the website, along with the audited Financial Statement which our treasurer, Paul Cooper, was unable to deliver in person. Paul has resigned as treasurer due to other personal and business commitments, and Peter Hayman has taken on this role on an interim basis.

The TRRA Constitution was formally ratified by the AGM and, there being no objections raised, was therefore adopted.

We are also pleased to welcome two new members elected to join the TRRA committee. These are Alie Ingham and Philip King. Alie will be well known to most of you as one of the founders and moderators of the ‘Thurstan’s Rise Residents’ Facebook group. Alie is particularly welcome, being the first representative of the Stonewater customers to join the committee. Philip ‘Phil’ King, modestly claims not to have ‘any particular qualifications’ but has kindly volunteered to join the committee, and will be very welcome!

Finally, as you will read in Simon Oldroyd’s update in the minutes of the AGM, the situation on the estate is ‘ongoing’ with few signs as yet of real progress. Please rest assured though that the new committee will be meeting again soon, and we will be vigorously pursuing every avenue to ensure that David Wilson Homes delivers on their promises, and brings the estate up to the standard we all expected when we moved here.
