TRRA invites you to join in the fun on the
Queens Platinum Jubilee Weekend Celebrations
On 6th February this year Her Majesty the Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events and initiatives are taking place throughout the year, culminating in a four-day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June.
People are being encouraged to organise street gatherings to celebrate the Jubilee as a nation. We’re thinking, bunting, picnics and community spirit!
On Saturday 4th June TRRA will be hosting a Jubilee Family Fete to continue the celebrations. The day will include entertainment, kids crafting activities, food and refreshments (including the ‘Tipsy Trailer’ mobile bar!), as well as a ‘Best Dressed Window’ competition and a ‘Fancy Dress Parade’. There will also be a ‘Thurstan’s Rise Bake-Off’ on the day (so get your aprons out!).
The event will run from 12noon-3pm and we welcome everyone from the estate and beyond to join us. (We hope to receive a small grant from Coleford District Council council to support the event.)
This is where we need YOU!
TRRA are looking for volunteers to offer help on the day. We need individuals who would like to be part of the day – we are looking for face painters, musicians, entertainers and other suggestions of people who are willing to offer their services.
