Another year, and so far it looks pretty much like more of the same!
One forthcoming event is the TRRA re-make of the Steven Spielberg classic ‘Jurassic Park’, which will be filmed in and around the estate.

This image shows a rehearsal of the scene where a tethered goat is used as bait to attract the Tyrannosaurus Rex (brilliantly portrayed by our secretary, Donna Albon!) Due to budgetary constraints we were unable to source a goat, and had to substitute a small tethered dog. (If anyone is able to supply a goat costume for ‘Luna’ we would be most grateful.)
Like the works on the estate, much of the script and screenplay remains to be completed. It is however intended to feature the famous scene in which the managing director of David Wilson Homes is partially eaten by Donna the Dinosaur, while attempting to hide in a ‘Portaloo’ situated on the banks of Lake Caudwell. The scene ends with the grisly remains being flushed down Sluts Brook and into the drainage culvert, when EMG workers accidentally unblock the silted up orifice plate. (We will of course ensure that no dogs, goats or dinosaurs are harmed during the filming of these scenes.)
We had hoped to be able to bring you some more positive news about the completion works on the estate, but despite yet another letter from Simon to DWH, asking for clarification on the many outstanding issues, we have yet to receive a full response. They have however, told us that they have arranged for EMG to clear the silt from the ‘orifice plate’ in the week beginning 18th January, and I’m sure we’ll all be looking forward to that!
Happy New Year to you all, and watch this space for further updates!
