Update 1
As previously reported, DWH will be completing all outstanding works on the estate over the next few months.
Most of this work will involve infrastructure and landscaping jobs and we’ll be meeting with DWH on a monthly basis to ensure that good progress is being made, and that all elements are completed to a high standard.
At this stage:
- The groundworks contractor, EMG, will now be commencing the drainage works in Cadora Way from Monday 19th October. These works will also include clearing the culverts between the estate and the farmer’s field on the western boundary, and diverting the water course through new drainage pipes.
- A contractor is being appointed to carry out a full risk assessment on the balancing pond (‘Lake Caudwell’) within the next few weeks.
- The ‘infrastructure review’ of Thurstan’s Rise (between DWH and Gloucestershire Highways, leading to adoption of the estate by the Council) took place on the 8th October. A full report and structured plan will be completed within the next few days, and DWH have confirmed that all necessary works on this aspect should now be completed before Christmas. We will provide regular updates here, as the work progresses.
- The landscape audit will be completed within the next two weeks, and orders will be raised to undertake the works as per the detailed landscape plan. We will advise as to the schedule, once we receive it.
We hope to have our first ‘site’ meeting with DWH next week, when we will be walking the estate to review the various issues with manhole covers etc. If you have a problem with any manhole cover on your driveway and haven’t already reported it, please do so now (Report an Issue), so that these can be included in our discussions with DWH.
Our efforts are on behalf of the whole estate, however, the more members we have, the greater our influence to get things done! If you haven’t yet joined the TRRA, please join us now!
