Ongoing estate works

by, Peter Hayman

Simon Oldroyd has been actively maintaining pressure on David Wilson Homes, to ensure that the present completion works on the estate are carried out as agreed in our previous ‘online’ and ‘on site’ meetings with DWH and EMG. This has been complicated by the recent illness of Thomas Groombridge, the manager overseeing the work. Thomas is now recovering, and should hopefully be back at work next week.

The drainage works in Cadora Way have been complicated by the presence of underground service connections in the ‘wrong places’. They are, however, still hoping to complete this work before Christmas. Thomas has assured us that the entire ‘hill’ section affected by the drainage work, will be resurfaced on completion.

Work on the pedestrian access to Oakfields should be completed soon. Thanks to the EMG workers here, who have been very helpful in keeping disruption to a minimum, particularly at school drop-off and pick-up times.

The landscaping consultants (Golby & Luck) have at last managed to complete their ‘audit’ of the public open spaces. They have established (to no-one’s great surprise!) that there is a considerable amount of work to be done, to bring things up to standard. DWH will be taking these matters up with their appointed contractor (TFN) in the first instance, but will make sure that the work is carried out as specified in the overall site plan.

We are continuing to ‘chase’ the issue of unsuitable plastic drain covers on drives, and other loose inspection hatches on the roads. We will update you as things progress!
